Chocolate Modak Recipe

Chocolate Modak Recipe is delicious and festive twist to Ganesh Chaturthi favourite. Also called kozhukattai, modaks are a staple for this festival, along with Sundal, served as the favourites of Lord Ganesh.

Ingridients : 2 cups Paneer (Homemade Cottage Cheese) , made fresh at home

1/4 cup Cocoa Powder

3/4 cup Icing Sugar

1 cup Dry coconut (kopra) , grated

1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
For stuffing (optional)

Whole Almonds (Badam) , as needed

Instructions To begin making the Chocolate Modak Recipe, refer Homemade Paneer Recipe or the complete process on how to make homemade chenna/ paneer.Into a large mixing bowl, add the homemade chenna, the icing sugar, desiccated coconut, vanilla extract and cocoa powder and and knead well for at least 5 minutes until the chocolate modak mixture is well combined. It should be smooth without any lumps. Bring the chocolate modak mixture together in a ball, and pinch a lime-sized portions of the mixture, to shape into modaks.Use modak moulds to give them the trademark shape. You can also place a whole almond inside the mixture before shaping into a modak.Serve along with other festive sweets like South Indian Poli Recipe with Coconut Obbattu/Bobbattu) and Paneer Gulab Jamun Recipe (Delicious Diwali Sweet) .
