Our easy apple sauce is a great accompaniment to rich meats, such as goose or pork. It needs just three ingredients to make in one simple step

3 Bramley apples, peeled, cored and sliced50g caster sugar50g butter
STEP 1Tip all the ingredients into a pan, then cover with a lid. Place the pan on a low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 15 mins until the apples break down into a purée. Stir to knock out any lumps, then tip into a serving dish.
