Layer up the pastrami to make an unforgettable sandwich with swiss cheese, lettuce, sauerkraut and mustard-mayo. Skewer in place with a cocktail stick

2 slices rye breadsalted butter, softened 2 tbsp mayonnaise1 tbsp American mustard4 slices pastrami2 slices swiss cheese 3 tbsp sauerkraut, drained 3 Little Gem, leaves separateda few cornichons, to serve

STEP 1Spread the slices of bread with butter, then the mayonnaise over one slice and the mustard over the other. Pile the pastrami over the mustard side, then add the cheese and sauerkraut. Pile over the lettuce, then sandwich with the mayonnaise-covered side. Skewer everything in place with a cocktail stick, and a few cornichons if you fancy.
