Amrakhand Recipe – Mango Shrikhand Recipe

Amrakhand recipe is a delicious Mango Shrikhand recipe that is made from the best of the mangoes available in the summer season.

Course : Dessert

Ingridients : 6 Mango (Ripe) , roughly pureed 

500 grams Hung Curd (Greek Yogurt)

2 Mango (Ripe) , peeled and chopped in chunks for garnish

2 tablespoons Caster Sugar , (normal sugar powdered)

1 teaspoon Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds , powdered

1 pinch Nutmeg powder

2 Saffron strands

Instructions To begin making the Amrakhand Recipe – Mango Shrikhand, first drain the yogurt in a cheesecloth or a fine cloth sieve  until almost all the whey is drained out.This would take about 5 to 6 hours or overnight.This process ensures that the yogurt is extra thick.Once all the whey has drained out, place the thick yogurt in a large mixing bowl and stir in the powdered sugar, saffron, cardamom and nutmeg. There are two ways you can make and present the Amrakhand Recipe – Mango Shrikhand. You can mix the entire mango puree mixture into the yogurt and top it with freshly cut mangoes or layer the yogurt and the mango puree and serve like in the picture shown.Once you have layered the mango and yogurt in individual bowl, refrigerate Amrakhand – Mango Shrikhanduntil you are ready to serve. Serve the Amrakhand Recipe – Mango Shrikhand topped with freshly cut mangoes as a dessert or along with your main course like Puri, Batata Nu Shaak and Kadhi.
